Thank You For Beng My Daughter

My Own Audrey,

I love being your mom. Seriously. Love it. It's such an honor to be the one you snuggle up to. The one whose lap you crawl into. The one you laugh loudest for (though you do laugh equally as loud for Dad). I've always loved kids but was happy I could give them back to their parents when they cried. But being your mom is way better. I like that I'm the one you get handed to when you're fussy (which, thankfully, isn't very often). I like the responsibility of making sure your bum is clean and your belly is full. I get to share so many special moments with you because you are what I do all day (and sometimes it is all day). The joy you bring is worth the times when dishes don't get washed or your diapers stay un-folded in the laundrey basket longer than I would like. Watching you grow and learn is exciting in ways I never knew excitement existed. It does make me sad as you outgrow stages and realize just how fast you are growing up but to see you become the little girl God has created you to be is one of the coolest experiences of my life. And you're just getting started! I'm so thankful I get to watch you grow from a newborn to an infant to a toddler to a girl to a woman. I love that I get to go on this journey with you, not as just anyone, but as your mom.
